Music is music is music is music.

It only becomes more than that if you let it. So there: to each his own.

I refuse to buy a Kanye West CD or song off of iTunes. However, if "Golddigger" happens to come on to the radio, I'll listen to it...

Great, thanks. Now I'm going to spend the rest of the day trying to get THAT image out of my mind. *shudders* So much for going to watch the Blues...

Yeaaaaah, you obviously never listen to lyrics then. A4s already covered it, the Nazis. Their songs sounded good... I guess it doesn't matter what they were saying right? Cause it's just music, right? Give me a break dude, music is one of the easiest ways to spread a message and "control" people. Precisely because it can be subtle, because people think "music is music".

I realize you're in Meridian, Fly, but I think you need to get out more often. You've started playing heavy metal music backwards while you clean your arsenal, haven't you?

On a more serious note, I think you and Eddie are both write to an extent. Music can just be music, if you possess the strength of character to not let it influence you. But how many people in today's post-GI Joe world actually DO possess that strength? Probably more than I'd estimate, but I'm kind of a cynic.

I listen to Barney music backwards. It's truly sadistic.

Don't confuse what I said with some hairbrained consiracy theory. I don't think the recording industry has this massive plot to brainwash the youth of America through music. They just want to make money, lots of it. What I'm saying is that music is an excellent media to distribute a message. Look at Green Day. They won't stop b!tching and whining in their current crop of songs, and they're immensely popular (I don't know why, they SUCK). If you don't think that's going to distribute a message, I personally think you're wrong. I'm not saying I don't listen to music that's sending out stupid messages, but if I notice it, such as Rage Against the Machine or System of a Down, then I'll stop listening to their music (besides the fact that they're no-talent hacks).

No, I understood what you were getting at. I just don't think that many people today would bother actually investigate things for themselves, just take what they hear/see as the official word. (It wouldn't be on TV if it weren't true, right?) As for Green Day... They suck, pure and simple.

Personally, I'm becoming slowly addicted to Reggaeton (Puerto Rican hip hop). Mainly because the woman is from PR and the beat's good, and only partly because there's hot latin chicas in the videos. And nothing beats a little BB King and some Single Barrel after a rough day at the squadron.

I listened to, and still do listen to, all sorts of "liberal music", and it hasn't turned me into a pot smoking hippy. Does the right even make music? And I drew my fair share of pentagrams and threw up the "devil" horns at shows, but I have yet to start biting the heads off of chickens. just cuz some kid is singing that stupid system of a down song about sending the poor, doesn't mean he believes it. ****, mickey doesn't really blow my mind, but if i hear that song, i'll be singing it for about a week because it just gets stuck in my head.

Why is that whenever someone makes a statement that obviously doesn't apply 100%, there is a person that HAS to say "Well I did this, and it didn't affect me". Stop it, I wasn't attacking you, nor was I implying what I said applies to all persons that listen to that music. GOod grief, I'm sick of this sh!t.

Oh, yes, the right does make music. It's called Country. :)

I just feel the need to contribute.

What's that country song where in the video the guy thinks he's some sort of gangsta cowboy? he's sitting in some fancy bar with all his cowgirl hos, smoking his cigar. kind of an odd thing for a country musician I thought.

Yeah I saw that video too, I can't remember who sings it. It's way too ghetto-ized though, I can't stand that. Girls gyrating their a$$es like a bunch of hip-hop girls. Not that it's not fun to watch....
