Which Ride?

Is that a CAP thing? 'Cause I haven't heard of an official dress code for civilians in a long time.
I kind of think our Commander deployed this as a 4/1 prank. Most of my GS-12/13 colleagues are retired O-5/O-6 who are in full beard mode.

Drove off the lot yesterday with a 23 Subaru Forester with a long term service contract. No pics as of yet I'm gonna have to get settled into it and get it dressed up a bit. All in all a positive experience, I pulled into the dealer with the wife just intending to look around.

I'll admit it...I don't want to give up my ability to make over 300hp and over 300 torques from an I-6, all while able to maintain 28+ MPG (while also being able to refuel in less than 3 minutes).

Totally respect that. For fun, recommend you go test drive a new Tesla. The process is ridiculously easy and they'll give you the car for an hour or more.

Not all computers are horrible, but there is needlessly complexity driving up costs in the automotive world. For example, taillight modules with radar / lane change that have to be replaced at $1800 per unit if something goes wrong have superseded a $15 bulb that you can replace yourself. Or a keyfob that cost more than a laptop computer. Or a mild hybrid system + multi-cylinder deactivation + start-stop costing thousand$ all to meet ever increasing CAFE standards on most V-8’s with the eventual goal of banning said All-American engine.

And today is the 26th of April. 4/26. National Hemi Day.

And it looks like Dodge is bringing back the Hellcat in Charger form for 2028 - probably just in time for a future administration to ban the glorious supercharged 6.2 HEMI.

Does it immediately make you drive like a no-SA retard, or does that come a little later? I want to run every Tesla I see on the road, off the road, into a fiery oblivion.
This, hopefully is coming.

No thanks. I bought a China-made once drill that quit working after 100 deck screws…I can eat that poor purchasing decision but not a whole car.

I just have zero desire to do that unless it's on a track. And then it would be to see if it can actually corner, which I'm guessing it struggles at without a lot of mods.

Speaking of an electric car on the track... This is an amusing watch, specifically to see how quick an electric car can be...right up until it needs to go fast where it gets smoked by a petrol engine. And then it runs out of battery after one lap.

Plus it's ALWAYS fun to watch The Stig thrash a car. Also impressive to watch since at the time he had almost no experience driving the 'Ring.
