I got a voicemail telling my X-33 is back from the mothership today. I love my G-Shock, but the Omega does class up the place a bit.

It’s always a bit of culture shock taking mine to the downtown Seattle boutique to get serviced. It’s in the first floor of the Fairmont Olympic, a five-star hotel, and there’s even a doorman. Nice to feel like a big shot, for all of five minutes.

I hear you...they had a doorman at the downtown Chicago OB...he didn’t want to let me in...and he was very wary of me after he let me in...I have no idea why.

Speedy Saturday at the AWCI watchmaking school today...we’ve been disassembling, cleaning and reassembling Swiss ETA 6497-1 movements over the past two days...we’ll be adjusting, timing and casing them up tomorrow with generic fleiger style dials, hands and cases...and then we’ll be wearing them home since most of us in the class purchased the 6497-1s that we’ve been working on...

After completing the three day introduction to watchmaking course at the AWCI headquarters near Cincinnati, OH, we disassembled, cleaned, oiled, adjusted, re-assembled, timed, cased and re-timed our generic fleiger ETA 6497-1 watches...then we bought them...and now we wear them.

The best part of the course was attending with our oldest child, Hannah.
