Looking good!

This is the first automatic I have had, movement is pretty damn good for the price.

Gentlemen, do you have any recommendations for a good watch in the cockpit? I'd go with Speedy but I'm not Speedily wealthy.
Seiko 6309-7049 automatic and/or Seiko SRP777K1 automatic [both pictured below]...the 6309 ceased production in 1988 but the SRP777K1 [the “reissue” of the 6309] with the 4R36 movement is currently in production. Pre owned 6309s are available but you need to purchase from a reputable seller. An SRP777K1 can be purchased new for about $300 and a good pre owned 6309 can be purchased for about $150 to $200. Personally, I would recommend the SRP777K1 since it is both an auto wind as well as a manual wind...and it has a hack feature.

6309-7049 top, SRP777K1 bottom...

A question I've asked out loud many times...especially when we also input most of the data digitally.

This is *very* familiar. PHI used multi part forms on a metal clipboard and we had to compute GW, CG, CG limits, OEI, etc prior to every takeoff. Literally with engines running, with mk1 mod 0 ball point pen. We used a small HP handheld calculator type computer. You got real good at it fast!
