Will I get attrited from NIFE?

I basically grew up not learning how to swim. I signed up for swim lessons before going to OCS, and I passed everything except the part where you wear the coverall and put air in it. For the second class swim, I volunteered to be put on hold swim because I only know how to do freestyle. I can jump off the tower and swim fine, but I can't tread water for very long. I'm also skinny and tend to sink in the water. I'm worried I might get attrited from the program.

Today was my third day and I failed the test out. I have a total of 10 days in remedial swim, and I could really use some advice.

Use those 10 days to become the best swimmer you can. Ask questions and leverage peers / instructors who can help you. We all have ups and downs in life and you can't let this get to your head.

Your post and mentality are misleading, if you are being sent to remedial swim, it doesn't make sense that you are being attrited from the flight program.

This was two years ago, but I knew atleast 2 people who spent 3 weeks in remedial before passing. I knew one guy who got sent to remedial multiple times. If you stay positive and keep slowly getting better you’ll be fine.

My stash job in A pool was the lifeguard for the class/remedial. The tread and float was easily 95% of the reason why people got pulled. Your swim lessons probably didnt prep you for putting on heavy gear and tredding water..... so nothing to be ashamed of. Its tough and uncomfortable even for strong swimmers.

The good news is that the remedial swim instructors are really good at teaching the tread and float. I know people who have re-rolled and re-re-rolled and been fine. They'll work with you as long as youre not giving up and making progress. Keep up a good mindset.

Also, they go back and forth about making swim remedial a pink sheet or not. If it is one, just ignore it. Not all pink sheets are created equal and that one is functionally meaningless.
