I plan on trying the retread thing after my first tour.

hopefully flight school is more enjoyable the second time around.

I'm concerned that age will be a factor. I'll be 27 in October of this year, and still several months from getting my NFO wings.

I hate to say this, but age might be a factor. Remember that you can get a waiver, but it all depends upon when you try to apply for the switch.
