Hey I was looking in the sharepoint on mynavyhr, and there are no boards left in FY25 on the spreadsheet for pilot BDCP. Is it possible that any will be added in the future? Or will the next board likely be in FY26? I asked my recruiter and he said there likely is not a chance they haven't uploaded all board dates into the spreadsheet yet. Are we going to have to wait until after October for the next board? Thanks!

Usually board schedules for the upcoming fiscal year are put out in the summer.

I spoke with a recruiter today and he said that I will need to be taking classes at a 4yr university to apply for BDCP in the fall. Will this be an issue for an August board if school has not started up yet? I’m transferring from community college and will be starting my last 2 years in the fall.

The PA says you need to be attending or accepted to a 4 year college, that being said the last time BDCP was a thing it was uncommon for a person to be accepted into BDCP that hadn't completed at least 1 term at a 4 year college after transferring from a 2 year college. I say uncommon because I am sure that someone did get into BDCP without completing a term in a 4 year college but I didn't see or hear about someone that did.

Hey I was wondering how closely the board for BDCP will look at prior service evals. I’m looking to apply in August or around that time for whenever the board will be. I’m currently a navy reservist and have had 2 evals.

1st - E4
3.00 RSCA
3.14 ITA
Summary Group Avg - 3.00
EP

2nd - Brand New E5
3.12 RSCA
3.14 ITA
Summary Group Avg - 3.18
MP
Recommendation for Officer Program

Will these evals look solid when the board goes through them? Thanks!

Boards don’t really care so much for evals as long as they’re not adverse.

Has anyone been accepted for BDCP who hasn't received an OCS date yet? I swore in at the end of February but still haven't received word of a date. I'm not sure if this is a red flag yet or what it means, if anything at all.

Why would it be a red flag?

Stop chicken little’ing over everything possible. Many collegiate programs will assign an OCS class when they are closer to graduating.

I know there is not a whole lot I can do, I just felt like sharing a frustrating experience.

I swore in on February 18th and am in the BDCP program for SNA. Our processor said that pay should take 6-8 weeks and if I didn't see anything by then, I should email. My recruiter went on parental leave the next week and was gone for about 6 weeks, which is understandable, but it did make getting questions answered difficult. Additionally it meant we did not have the weekly phone calls or monthly meetings. When he came back, we scheduled going to the base for today to get my CAC card (I need it because I am leaving on an OCONUS work trip soon for a month and need to do ATO trainings). Today was the 8 week mark as well as Navy's pay day, so when I checked this morning and saw that I hadn't received pay, I emailed the processor.

Fast forward to just now. While driving to the base (1.5 hour drive), I got a call from my recruiter. Apparently the old processor quit when the government decided to furlough civilian contractors. He found out that not only were we not able to go to the base today to get the CAC card, but my paperwork had not even begun to process. He said that due to the severe shortage of contractors, it will be at least another 8 weeks until pay might begin (4 months after swearing in) and we can get the CAC card. He is checking now with his boss about what we can do since I leave in two weeks regarding the OCONUS checklist.

I know I don't have a lot to complain about. I am lucky and grateful to have to opportunity to be a part of the BDCP program, as well as the SNA designator.

Your frustrations are valid, but unfortunately thats just how it is sometimes. It only took me two pay cycles for it to hit my account and here you are where it might take 8. At least once you finally get your paycheck it will be an absolutely gigantic one.
