The end of NATO?

Frivolous meaning that the results of the investigation determined that there was no wrong-doing.
That’s not really the definition of frivolous.

I had an IG filed against me by someone not happy with their fitrep. My thinking on it was it’s your right. That the complaint was looked at by higher authority and denied was good for everybody.

Not a single one of them were relieved of command. But in a promotion system where it increasingly becomes about 'who knows your name' as you move up the ladder, their careers are pretty much dead for going through the process.
Sorry, but that’s not how selection boards work.

I think what Spekkio is trying to say is that the case was frivolous because it was determined that there was no wrong-doing.

"Frivolous" is a silly way to discuss the investigatory system, especially if the framing is unsubstantiated = frivolous. It's like the term "government waste" - it's only waste because you don't like the purpose of the spending. It's only "frivolous" because you don't like going through the process.

If you want to create a system where a senior will never have to endure an investigation that is ultimately unsubstantiated, you've created a system that has no realistic avenue for juniors to report discrimination, abuse, etc. Personally, if I'm going to err to one side, I'd prefer it be the one where juniors have a system to identify problems, and I'll eat the risk of enduring an unfounded investigation.

Generally in agreeance, but maybe we could do without holding up promotions while the process takes 7+ months to adjudicate.

I think we need many more facts about the example you're deploying here. You're making all these claims about a case that none of us are able to evaluate.

Brett, if someone could dox you and judge you by posts that got you banned from aw.com about 10-15 years ago, they would.

I understand that's not what is written on a piece of paper. But I'm talking about FO promotions, not O4 - O6 promotions.
