It becomes about what we want when we're funding and supplying a good portion of the war effort. Doubly so when the defense-industrial complex throws flares up that we are running dangerously low on munitions and they can't manufacture the weapons we are expending in Ukraine until 5 years from now.It is not about what WE want, it is about what Ukraine wants. Their democratically elected leadership has decided to keep fighting and the populace continues to support it. We should continue to support their choice to keep fighting and not reward a shitbag dictator who wants nothing less than destroy Ukraine.
It doesn't matter if it was Trump or Harris, the same advisors would be saying the same thing and the President would attempt to end the war sooner than later, because the alternative is telling Ukraine "good luck, you're on your own now" and that will end poorly for them.
Before the elections, ~40% of the public said we were doing too much to support Ukraine vs. 30% who thought we were doing too little. Now that opinion has shifted, which I guess only shows that polls are only good at indentifying the people who like to complain.
