Adding on to that....Matthew Chapter 7 verse 8. "Ask, and it will be given." For those of you that like the good book, Psalm and Matthew are perfect for moments like these.

NAMI has its own waiver guidelines to determine whether a candidate is fit for duty as an aviator. If you do some digging, you can find a PDF copy of it somewhere online.

You'd have to be an incredible human specimen to not need any waivers at all. Most people I know (myself included) have some sort of waiver from NAMI

But most likely people that got the ok from MEPS would also get the ok from NAMI right???

If you're med DQ'd, you're still technically in training by your own will. You have the option of re-designating into a different community, standing your ground and fighting NAMI to the best of your ability, or just straight up DOR'ing. Most people I know who got med DQ'd just transferred into a different community.

However, I do remember one girl in student pool who was a NUPOC designator and ended up DOR'ing. If I remember correctly, part of their contract says that if they DOR from OCS, they have to go to Great Lakes to do boot camp as an enlisted, and she tried to fight big navy on it. idk what happened to her but I never saw her after I left student pool

Not necessarily. A few guys from my OCS class had eye issues and got DQ'd from SNA. One went intel and the other managed to go NFO

Don't worry about what you can't control, you'll just have to cross that bridge when you get to it

Did she DOR after getting DQ for Nuke or just flat out DOR? I found it also depends how long they were in NUPOC for, 3 months is different than 2 years even though technically it is the same contract. I had a BDCP that DOR'd after 2 years and she was sent to boot camp to basically pay back her time. I had another who was DQ from Nuke due to a food allergy and he was told he could go home or pick another designator he picked Supply. There was another this guy was in OCS with who had another medical issue that DQ from Nuke as well and he decided to go home even though I guess he was offered some pretty cool designator options.

If I remember correctly, I think she just straight up DOR'd. There was a big fuss with her and the admin office bc she was trying to avoid going to Great Lakes AND avoid paying the Navy back all the money she got from her sign on bonus or whatever it was. There was another girl who got med DQ'd from sub nuke and she just went home.

A straight up DQ she should go to boot camp, of course I had heard of a DOR getting sent to boot camp, who then evidently just kept failing the runs and was discharged.

Ahhh ok well I was able to find the waiver guide and it definitely seems like something I have to worry about when I get there lol things do seem in my favor though so I will try not to worry that much.

The P-8 is an awesome platform with a cool mission set and they're based out of either Jax or Whidbey (both nice). The lifestyle is also really nice, especially considering you won't have to be on a boat (unless you do your disassociated tour on one). They're incredibly versatile so they get sent to do a lot of things

The E-6 is another cool platform that I would've liked to fly as well. From what I understand, they fly the most out of every community in the Navy and they're minimally tasked when at home. I'm from the Midwest too, so it would've been cool for my family and friends to make it down to OKC to hang out

Just curious, in your class do you remember how many of your peers went strike?
 
Long time lurker, army prior with rotary crew chief experience and combat time, also applied for this board hoping for results soon. Out of Fort Knox, KY. I was kind of wandering about that, as I already had to get waivers for medical already. Do you guys know if it was a pretty direct transfer to SWO/Intel/Whatever if you get medically DQ'ed from NAMI?
