Current or aspiring CWO look here.

Thanks for letting me know! What was your OAR, if you don’t mind me asking? Also, are you a CWO now?

@exNavyOffRec and @FormerRecruitingGuru, thanks for the input. I think my plan is to send it without the physics prereqs and if I’m not selected, I’ll go ahead and get those under my belt. I am very thankful for all of the info you have both provided.

For what it's worth, I do not have a technical background at all. Granted, I've been an 1810 closing in on ten years this year. I know others in my boat, to include some more recent new accessions, but we aren't the majority (not exactly a rarity, though, either). As to pipeline training difficulty, I got through my qualifications just fine, to include various cyber, CWO, IWO, and DIRSUP qualifications. Would certain concepts have been easier to grasp if I had a more technical background? For some, yes, but you can also be very proficient at your job as a CWO without having that background, even if it requires a little extra prep and studying.

Hello everyone
Do CWO's do anything Cyber at all these days or has it been redistributed to MCWOs

My stats are an immediate select for CWO, but MCWO has no such process.
I am considering immediate select for CWO rather than wait for MCWO board and maybe get selected in there

Yes, just not cyber mission force cyber jobs. Cyber jobs for cryppies are still available in national billets.

Can you explain further?

1810s still do computer network operations (CNO) in NSA billets. You can learn somewhat about what these jobs entail here: https://www.intelligencecareers.gov/nsa/development-program

You just won't see 1810s being on cyber protection teams, cyber mission teams, cyber support teams, etc., anymore going forward as a general matter, whereas we used to have a monopoly (with a little 1820 flavor sprinkled in at times) on those jobs prior to MCWO standing up.

I'm not the best equipped to provide insight into what stats MCWO selects have when getting picked up, but those seem like pretty strong stats in general.
