Kids and toy guns

Start them off right when they are young.

So when some kid says "Hey want to see my Dad's guns?"

My boy will say, "No, it's not a big deal, I shoot all the time with my Dad."

...Pics of cute kid...

Really now, Really?

I agree with proper use and instruction at a young age, but I don't think thats the response that any kid will give. Teach them but also lock up your guns (although I'm sure you do). And ask your kids parents if they lock up their guns...

Stupid liberal...any good parent would know that there is no lug for a bayonet on the M2 .50cal machine gun. :)

Two words....Schnugg's right.

I noticed that too, even as someone who is not a gun nut.........;)

Give the guy credit though, at least he lets his kids play with toy guns and got to the Army party.........

Tell me the connection between not wanting children and having patricidal and incestuous tendencies.

Since it's probably too much to ask you to actually have read something before you talk about it, here's something to occupy your weekend:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oedipus_complex

In his JOKE, he referred to parents being morons right? So, (in his joke) what does that say about his relationship with his parents, maybe he harbors some patricidal tendencies towards his parents. So could his [brett327's] unwillingness to marry come from the conflict and turmoil that comes from wanting an incestuous relationship with his mother, but also having to hide these feelings because of fear of rejection from society? So he masks his confused emotions with a rejection of societies concepts of marriage?

I dunno, apparently I don't watch The View enough to answer this question intelligently... so I concede. School me...

Good enough. I'm still trying to learn to play nice with the other children. (incidentally, my mother didn't let me have toy guns. Go figure)

Wow! I feel like I've experienced years of therapy from a single post. :D

@ FB: If your parents has let you play with guns as a child (toy or otherwise), you would have learned the requisite power/authority dynamics which ultimately facilitate "playing nice" with others. Things like respect, healthy fear of danger, desirability of power and means of skillfully overthrowing it, among others all go into a healthy set of adult interpersonal skills - all from playing with guns. :D

As well as learning to play fair and by the rules... When you are playing with pretend bullets, you have to concede when you are shot. No one likes the kid that won't fall when they are shot. Now let that be a lesson to all the 8 year olds on this forum. :icon_tong

I used to play war with my brothers all the time, but the key is I never tortured any animals.

uhhh. So if you tortured animals but didn't play war, is that OK? just asking...cause i know this guy who was wondering...

Toy guns don't cause serial murders. Daddy coming home drunk and shooting your dog in the head....that creates a serial murderer.

@Brett: You may refuse to be a parent, but, at best, you can hope not to become a parent. Even Durex isn't perfect.;)

@FMRAM: I was wearing my imaginary kevlar! Next time aim for a headshot!
