FY12 STA-21 Applicants

Everyday I find more and more holes in my package.....just put me out of my misery!!! Come out already!!!!!

I'm with ya! I just realized I never mentioned that i would need an age waiver for secondary of Core MISTAKE!!! I hope that I made less mistakes with my primary option. Is there anyone else out there for the Oceanography (1800) option that would be willing to swap information with me? Whether or not we get picked up I think there's a lot to learn from eachother!

Hey All! Best of luck to everyone who applied this year, the wait was virtually unbearable when I applied, almost to the point where I took leave to get away from all technology until the results came out. Keep those heads up, and stay OFF the computer!!!!

Hey does anyone know if you can CLEP out of the Calculus requirement if your school accepts the CLEP test for it?

Highly doubt it. If it wasn't Engineering type Calculus, then maybe. But the level to which you need to know Calculus because of the Physic's requirement will dictate that it will be the higher level Calc. Ask and the worse they can say is no.

I am attached to NAVPERSCOM and I was really hopoing that I might find out the results a little early. Ifigured that the folks in Millington might be fairly high on the distro list. No such luck thus far...

I agree. This forum is pretty slow especially for how close we are to the results. As far as the NAVADMIN message I doubt that is anything. last year it was posted:

That was for 19 OCT.
I think this program is great. I wish I knew about it when I first joined. I run into some people who knew about it before they joined and some people I know have been in for 10 years and don't even know about it. I think the navy sucks at informing us of our opportunities.

I like that it takes a proactive person to find out about this program, because it certainly takes a proactive person to piece together an entire package. The STA-21 information is out there for anyone to read, all they have to do is look for it. Not much to ask for in the grand scheme of things really.

I have had dinner with the current CO of RTC Great Lakes several times. The first time he felt compelled to tell me because I am a STA-21 product how they promote the STA-21 program and give every recruit a brief on it . If a junior sailor chooses to ignore this so be it. Personally, I remembered every accession program they spoke of because even in boot camp my goal was to get a commission.

I was in the Navy for three years before I heard about STA-21. My current command did a CO's brief and everyone was invited. I wish now that I had applied earlier but I didn't think I'd have a strong enough package.
