01JUN26 SNA/SNFO board

What is the deal with all these ISEL candidates getting pushed to the street board? (Edit: I guess you weren’t ISEL but you still had those scores) You’re scores are easy money that you would be picked up.
i had to submit a waiver for my LASIK surgery and get a second opinion for my MEPS results but i'm pretty sure that doesn't count as a waiver for ISEL

Just making sure I'm arriving at Newport with a humble attitude lol

It's just because I-SEL is supposed to be more stringent so lots of minor things like speeding tickets, dismissed charges, and marijuana usage results in packets being rejected. I would hesitate to even call it a 'moral issue' if it wasn't the terminology used by the Navy. Personally, I feel like speeding tickets kind of come with the territory.
+/- 50% of applicants withheld disclosure of marijuana? ( your opinion)

How long has it been for everyone since you started the process/took your first ASTB? It’s been a long almost two years for me…
took my first ASTB almost a year ago... though i probably would've made an earlier board if I kept following up with my recruiter after the test instead of delaying for like 4 months lol

Took my ASTB in January of this year.

Did you talk to a civilian doctor?? I initially failed depth perception too but that’s because it’s super janky at my RPS. I have friends who are pilots at the nearby base and they told me that they hear almost everyone fails it :/
i did and failed. turns out my left eye is a bit lazy so SNA is a no no. I wont lie i may have studied the depth perception test (randot test answers are always the same from what i saw) and cheated to get a good score (got 20 arcsec) and then thought about seeing how far i could get but I think lying would've been a little evil so i didn't turn in the cheated test and finally accepted my fate and went SNFO

Hard to say. I'm sure plenty of people lie, but personally, I wasn't even asked during my medical appointments. So maybe there's just a group of reformed pothead I-SEL guys at Newport who never even knew they were supposed to disclose it to the Navy.

Literally. I keep telling myself I shouldnt have a problem with a 56, 7, 8, 7, and a 3.69 GPA, but Im still really nervous. My fiance and I are both a wreck right now
Current P-8 Pilot, got in with a 55 7,7,7. Had to take the ASTB twice to get qualifying scores. Whatever happens, just keep swinging. Good luck to everyone this cycle. I’m just lurking because one of my homies is on this board waiting for results also

I’d hope 0% would lie, but that’s being optimistic and having good faith lol

Withholding disclosure is arguably a much larger issue than using drugs to begin with, imho.
Without a doubt. I feel like if people can show up and pass a drug test they shouldn’t worry about weed to begin with but that’s my opinion. I know guys who have FOR A FACT lied and are actively in training for the Navy. If it’s a moral issue per se, I feel like a lack of integrity is far more morally questionable 🤷‍♂️

Went into recruiting office july 2024, ASTB in august 2024, 63 7, 6, 8. Missed last may board, not picked up in september. Retook ASTB this march, 66 9, 8, 9.
