Did anyone get a receipt from the board saying your kit was received? My recruiter said it was sent in, but I think nerves are getting to me.

I think we just have to take their word for it.

This is my experience, too.

My OR said there is not a confirmation letter, message, or anything like that. The at board list will be the first indication that our packages were successfully submitted.

At board list? Care to fill me in on this?

I don’t know a whole lot about it, @exNavyOffRec should be able to explain more.

Until he can, I’ll try. My understanding is that basically it’s just the list of applicants that will be reviewed by the board. As far as I know, that’s all it is. I believe they release it a few weeks before the board convenes, so in our case probably sometime in October.

Edit: Timeframe might vary. My OR said a couple weeks after the submission date. But combing through the threads here, it’s seems more likely they release it as I mentioned before - a few weeks before the board meets.

I was curious about the same thing. I asked my recruiter last week and he said he received confirmation my application made it to NRC. So it sounds like they might receive some sort of confirmation?

This is what I was assuming, but I didn't get an actual receipt. My package was 'pre-loaded' or so my recruiter said- I do trust him that my kit made it to board.

The recruiters know if the application made it, we just don't receive an email personally. After the May board the recruiter said he knew that I went to the board, I just never received that confirmation.

There is a phrase that many military families live by; No news, is good news. If the recruiter contacts you now it's probably because something happened and you'd probably be moved to the January board.

Confirmation from your OR is good, from that point forward I wouldn't worry. If they say you're submitted you're probably fine.

At this point there isn't anything you can really do now anyway. All the inquiries about the kit being submitted properly should be done before the cutoff since you'd be risking rolling to the next board if there is an error and you didn't have time to catch it. That's why the admin team exists though, after you're done with all of the edits and adjustments, there shouldn't be anything that gets in the way. The board can cap the number of applicants and if they do that you'll roll to the next board automatically. It's a good thing to try and get it in early for those reasons.

But really though, I just reread my texts to make sure I wasn’t misremembering. My OR only said he followed up with their processor and they confirmed it was sent in. He didn’t mention anything about receiving something from NRC, or whoever.

It’s possible he did receive something and just did not say anything. He’s been more of a “just trust me” type throughout this process. Ha. That makes me nervous but he’s never been wrong.

I love that meme.

We had a meme wall in my Detachment when I was in the military. Then one day we had an O-4 come through from our leadership staff and she said take it all down. Ruined our morale for a couple weeks. It was our way of dealing with the stress of the assignment, but ultimately unprofessional it seemed.

Oof. If there was nothing NSFW that caused it, that’s rough.

We had something similar in our athletic training room - a quote board. It’s kind of funny how something so simple can have such a positive effect on morale.

It's been maybe 3 years. I had to retest because of the new standards with the age max changing. Life happened in between all of that.

My previous score was 42 4/6/5.

Yeah not a fun time. Wasn't even an NSFW issue. I understand both sides where it can be seen as unprofessional but on the other hand, all levels of the unit leadership enjoyed the laughs. Rather than asking what the meme meant, she just instructed our leadership to have it all removed.

Good example of what not to do when I get in that position.

We had her bosses visit the unit several times prior, O-5's and O-6's (Squadron Commanders) who read them and get a kick out of them because they understood the context and the stress of the assignment. She saw one that had an LT in it and that was the end of it.

Yeah the little things can make a big difference, and a lot of little things can be overwhelming and are often the reason why we lose service members permanently for no good reason.
