I genuinely hope you were selected, because with your scores, I'm not sure how I could have made it in...lol
On that note as well. The spreadsheet also says you're prior, have a better GPA, and a conventional degree. I was honestly scared that since my degree is neither a B.S. or a B.A. but a B.A.A.S it would affect my selection. So many nuances to consider.

That may be true, but your scores are still very solid. Regardless, I wish you the best.

Keep in mind if your trying to measure against others, which is only logical; I have a lot of flight time "thousands of hours, sizable jet time, and every civilian ticket you can get." so there are variables that are not disclosed on the spreadsheet that can factor in of course.

Looking at the results from the Aug board they had 241 applicants. 145 selected for pilot and 59 for NFO. Could it be possible that only SNA designators have been slotted and the jury’s still out on NFOs? If only 121 total were selected from our board it’s quite a bit lower selection rate than the previous. Idk just thinking out loud here and trying to be optimistic lol

Exactly, and I certainly never planned on being the most qualified. I had never even considered becoming a pilot with the navy until the beginning of the year. If I had paid attention to the recruiters in high-school I likely would have chosen a different degree, and gotten some flight time in before now. However, I was hoping my ASTB would put me in the middle somewhere.

Looking at your scores, you are VERY competitive. So keep those fingers crossed, go for a run and wait for the phone call! Based on what you have scores-wise, I'd put money on you getting selected.

There isn't any single factor or combination of factors that will guarantee selection... ASTB, GPA, Prior service, Flight experience... None of these speak to who the individual is.

I've seen all 9's get turned down when minimums (5/6/6) get selected, low GPA's (2.3) get selected over 3.9's. I've seen individuals with no prior service and no flight experience and lower ASTB scores selected over prior service, flight experience, higher GPA, and higher ASTB scores. Individual factors can be competitive but the numbers only tell us so much. It's a mixture of everything, It's all subjective. Do yourself a favor if you're not selected, don't try to rationalize what you see on the board because it's not the whole picture and it will just drive you crazy asking, "Why them and not me?".

What I will say with confidence, don't underestimate the motivational statement and it's effect on the board both positively and negatively.
