If you've got legitimate reasons to switch then switch. I switched recruiter very early on in this process to a guy in another state simply because the one in my state would never get back to me and I wanted to get my application in before the January deadline. Just be prepared to explain your reasons to the new recruiter so that they are confident in your commitment. I wouldn't say there are any risks per-say. You only risk the chance that your next recruiter is just as bad if not worse.
However, I'd say as long as your recruiter is responsive and getting back to you it might be worth it to stick it out with them. You've got a good GPA and PBM scores but the two people that have been selected so far have near perfect GPAs and PBMs. I don't have the numbers but I'm assuming BDCP is a much smaller selection pool than non-BDCP so that could explain why the barrier to entry was so high. I don't know how much longer you have until you graduate but I'd suggest just waiting until after you officially graduate to apply, then you'd have a much higher chance of getting selected. In the meantime you can get some flight lessons. It doesn't have to be a ton of hours but at least enough to check the box and show that you are serious about being a pilot. retaking the ASTB can be an option as well, you have great scores but you were so close to being I-SEL eligible that I'm sure if you put in the extra practice time you can practically guarantee you get selected next time you apply.
I am really considering retaking the ASTB to get the I-SEL scores but I don't want to risk my score so I am kind of in a pickle.

It's really tough situation because they are definitely solid scores, and there's always the risk of potentially getting a worse score unlike the Air Force AFOQT :/

I am confident I could get triple 7's...the reason my AQR is a 6 is because I did not put nearly enough effort on mechanical section studies and bombed it. Everything else on the test was a breeze. It would definitely give me peace of mind about waiting until right before/after graduation to submit for ISEL.

I just don't want to be a 'loser' after obtaining my degree as flying for the Navy has been my only option in things I want to do with my life...so waiting until I graduate to apply with non I-SEL scores just doesn't sit right with me. I have not done nor do I have any interest in getting a finance internship and pursuing that career field. This degree is just a means to an end for me to satisfy the bachelors degree requirement to become an aviator.

then if that's the case I'm positive you'll get there one way or another.

Making Recruiting Great Again
I understand I did not get selected, oh well we move on and try again.

What are the risks of switching recruiters? I would like a fresh start as the one I'm with now I stayed with out of loyalty through the process but there were red flags from him throughout the process.

If you feel otherwise, you can always request to work with another recruiter. I would strongly suggest you communicate your intent and not "surprise" him or her on the back end. Odds are the new recruiter will be contacting the old one.

I’m gonna just thug it out with my current recruiter. He goes back to the fleet in June anyway so I’ll have someone else whether that’s a good or bad thing.

Gonna spend the next month re-studying for the ASTB to try to cross that triple 7 threshold.

How many times have you taken the ASTB?

Best of luck if you take it again ! I took it my second try in November and I must say it was significantly harder. than the first time I took it The one section that caught me by surprise was the reading comprehension. I have taken the LSAT before and I have to say the reading comprehension was about on par with that. If you do retake it spend a couple of weeks studying LSAT material. Reading comp on the ASTB app, kyles flash, barrons is so much easier than what was on the test. I feel like that is the only reason I didn't get triple 7s instead a 6/7/7

Reading comp is only apart of the OAR it doesn’t affect the ASTB.
