SNA Select
I have no idea how but I landed the pro-rec-y BDCP SNA. I thought the board was cancelled so I was caught by surprise yesterday when my recruiter called me to tell me the news.
congratulations!! Did you get a class date by any chance! I got picked for ISEL SNA this week. My class date is August 10th

I think only the ISEL and BDCP peeps are getting picked up early bc their respective programs and ISEL is a rolling board. Us regulars have to wait until after 03MAR is what I’m gathering. Correct me if I’m wrong?

Do you remember when you submitted for ISEL? Congrats btw!

Making Recruiting Great Again
What can I do? My recruiter basically told me, word for word, “you got denied, re-apply when you graduate for the best chance, good luck to you” as if he never wants to hear from me again. Considering switching recruiters for my next application cycle.

I echo @exNavyOffRec ’s comments but based off the fact someone else got selected for BDCP it does confirm BDCP applications were reviewed.

There’s risks with either staying or going with another recruiter.

It’s just so weird, my recruiter told me NRC isn’t accepting reg SNA apps for this board and other recruiters I talked to across the country said they’ve been going by the board schedule, not nrc, and if my guys said that, then it’s true, but there’s still people being picked up for this board?

And I’m not getting confident answers on when the next one is

The board schedule is made by NRC.

My guys said that’s the program director (?), and that it’s tentative. Even if so, does anyone have any insight on what/why my recruiter said that.
The schedule can be adjusted based on the board members schedules, or based on the needs of the Navy. The schedule will be adjusted as needed for things other than minor date changes as can be seen by the changes they have done recently when boards had to restrict applicants or verified to be open to all applicants. The Commander of NRC is ultimately responsible for any info in that schedule, so going by the board schedule is going by NRC.

I understand I did not get selected, oh well we move on and try again.

What are the risks of switching recruiters? I would like a fresh start as the one I'm with now I stayed with out of loyalty through the process but there were red flags from him throughout the process.

If you've got legitimate reasons to switch then switch. I switched recruiter very early on in this process to a guy in another state simply because the one in my state would never get back to me and I wanted to get my application in before the January deadline. Just be prepared to explain your reasons to the new recruiter so that they are confident in your commitment. I wouldn't say there are any risks per-say. You only risk the chance that your next recruiter is just as bad if not worse.
However, I'd say as long as your recruiter is responsive and getting back to you it might be worth it to stick it out with them. You've got a good GPA and PBM scores but the two people that have been selected so far have near perfect GPAs and PBMs. I don't have the numbers but I'm assuming BDCP is a much smaller selection pool than non-BDCP so that could explain why the barrier to entry was so high. I don't know how much longer you have until you graduate but I'd suggest just waiting until after you officially graduate to apply, then you'd have a much higher chance of getting selected. In the meantime you can get some flight lessons. It doesn't have to be a ton of hours but at least enough to check the box and show that you are serious about being a pilot. retaking the ASTB can be an option as well, you have great scores but you were so close to being I-SEL eligible that I'm sure if you put in the extra practice time you can practically guarantee you get selected next time you apply.
