OCS 03Nov2023 SNA/SNFO Board

I know there is probably no correlation but apparently the intel board that convened a week before this board just got their selection news so I’m going to hope we follow suit with that turn around time and hear something next week then.

I would imagine they have way less people to review too. So I would not bet on it, but you never now.

Not probably it is zero correlation as different board members, different things to focus on, and they may have convened early as the board date is a guide.

How is everyone's physical training going?

I have been lifting weights for several years with no regular cardio and my body doesn't like the pushups or the running.
I was literally sitting here thinking about the same thing right as you posted this lol. I’m a firefighter so I’m good in the strength department, but the cardio and high rep push up thing is killing me right now. Glad I’m not the only one adjusting.

Lol. I can run a satifactory 1.5 mile but it ain't pretty. I need to get more pushups though.

That firefighting training should do you well in OCS.

Me as well. Ive just been doing pushups, and running 1.5 miles. These two seem to be a good combo. Im 185 at 5'5" so on the heavier side. Just to put it out there, is anyone in the NYC/Long Island area up for a PT session?

Same here. Did my PRT the other day and got Good(high) score, I read that Excellent(low) is what you wanna go to OCS with so that has me a little nervous.

I hope so. I’m familiar with the whole paramilitary structure of things, plus I’m a line officer (Lieutenant) so hopefully that helps me some with the leadership portion. Going in with an open mind and ready to be absolutely destroyed though, same as the fire academy.

I'm doing pretty good on the planks and pushups but man I can't even run 1 mile yet. I think I just really suck at running or something
