The aviation part isnt terrible just gotta increase the OAR and you’re solid. I got selected to be an NFO with a 50 5/7/7. Study and retake! Don’t stress over it, you’ll get a good score next time if you plan on retaking it.
I wouldn’t be able to re-take prior to the May board, I’ll have to submit with these scores and hope for the best.
Dude you're solid you got a good ass oar, your pbm is pretty good 8/7/8 is really darn and the most important not to mention leadership experience and 3.06 gpa you're fine like seriously you're doing better than me you'll get selected if you got like a 20 or a 42 5/5/5 then I'd be worried but you're fine just wait for what ya get at the selection boardHi everyone,

My first post on here, and I wanted to ask if I'd be considered a competitive candidate for SNA. I don't know the correct place to ask about this, so throwing it up on this board.
Age: 24
ASTB-E scores (Took it this morning) OAR: 61 8/7/8
Degree: Bachelor of Arts (Music) GPA: 3.06
Current job: Supervisor of a DPH COVID response specialized team (Schools, gyms, churches, daycares for 13 counties). Basically running a team of 12 employees right now dealing with contact tracing and data collection.
Previous work: Factory work in high school, I.T. student worker for 6 months, Genetics lab tech for 1.5 years, Phlebotomist for 1.5 years at plasma clinic. Server at restaurant for 1 year, Case investigator at current job for 3 months then promoted to supervisor for another 5 months.
My GPA sucked, and I totally recognize that. What's worse, is that it wasn't even in a STEM field. I was double majoring Biology+Music for half my college career plus working 20-35 hrs/week to pay for college/survival. That's my excuse, I'm sticking to it!
I was hoping my ASTB would be high enough to compensate for my bad GPA, but my scores don't seem high enough to make up for it. (Especially my OAR, not very good...). Also, since I'm currently a supervisor I think that counts as leadership experience, so maybe that'll help tip the scales?
So what's the prognosis, folks? I know nothing is certain, and either way I'm going to be applying for the August 2021 Aviation board. But I feel like people here may have the answers.
I'll be calling my recruiter on Monday of course, but he usually takes a couple days to get back to me and I never get as in-depth answers as I'd like. I also don't want to wait that long to hear an informed opinion!
I appreciate all the posts this community has collectively made. It helped me feel more at ease going into the exam today, even if I didn't get the scores I wanted.
Your PFAR is right around average for those selected, but your GPA is slightly lower (STEM field or not, doesn't matter). I would argue you have a decent chance to be selected for SNA, but it all depends on other applicants who applied during that specific board review period. Your FOFAR is pretty high, as well as your AQR. I would submit an SNA/NFO packet as soon as you can. You should feel confident, too. Your scores are great.Hi everyone,

Thanks! I found the chart with people applying to the April 2021 board and it seems like I'm about average, maybe slightly below b/c of my GPA. Still going for that August board, so hopefully I get through.
pretty sure exnavyoffrec had already previously stated this would invalidate any packages already at the board since the score is no longer current, so you should wait.
I had seen that response he made, I was just curious if I could retro-actively have the score submitted with the package.
