What is the logic on the actual test? I was under the impression that you use the Trigger for even numbers in all circumstances, and vice versa for the clutch, taking into the target ear of course.

You are correct, I don’t want to condition people to the wrong thing on the exam.
This is correct.

Is there a sheet with last boards stats? What was the acceptance rate for SNA? What was the scores people were getting to get accepted?

The next board is going to be the start of immediate selection decisions, it will be interesting to see how many are going to meet that criteria and what it ends up doing for those that don't meet that criteria. The next few boards will be a wait, see and evaluate.

Just curious what do you mean by an immediate selection decision? or how will it differ from previous boards?

Those that have no waivers and meet GPA and ASTB requirements bypass the board and get an OCS date, that has the potential to alter how things look for those to go to the actual board. The new info is in the program authorization 106

Hello everyone,

I'm taking my ASTB soon and have been studying like crazy. I'm at the point where I'm trying to narrow down my weaknesses for the exam. Do you know how much of the ANIT will be on Naval History? I'm not too worried about the aviation side because I have my commercial pilot license. However, not having gone through NROTC, I don't know much about Naval history aside from what I've studied. How important is it to learn about Aircraft Carrier Personnel and operations? Or important historical events?

Thank you in advance!

According to what people’s recruiters told them and then sent in the chat, the acceptance rate was around 40-50% I believe for SNA. The excel sheet is a little misleading for the previous board because it says only around 10 people weren’t selected total but the amount of people that got a NO seems to be more than 10.

Hi all, whats the gauge on how the ASTB Prep app questions are compared to the actual test? I just went through the mechanical section test in the app and felt completely blindsided by most questions, despite that being the focal point of my studies the last two months. For reference i also used most of the recommended study materials that are posted on this forum and gone through them multiple times and feel like i have a pretty good grasp on it.

I've been told that the ASTB will be provided with an equations sheet for the math/mechanical comprehension portion. Does anyone know exactly what that entails?

Thanks

Hello all,

I finished my second attempt of the ASTB and to my disappointment, I scored exactly the same as I did the first time I took it:

My scores are: 60, 7/5/6

When preparing for my second attempt I purchased the same Logitech Joystick and Throttle used during the examination and practiced using a modified version of Jantzen and Mike's ASTB trainer, which included the emergency scenarios. I did every emergency scenario correctly, however my response times to the audio cues were long and I often got them incorrectly. The link to the simulator is below:

I also used the paper compass on a pencil trick for the UAV portion of the examination, only missed 1, with an average response time of about 2.5 seconds.

I'm planning to schedule my final ASTB attempt for mid march and was hoping for any further advice or recommendations.

Thank you.
