go through this forum a bit there is a windows version available for the stick and throttle called the jantzen sim. I don’t have the link right now, but if you skim through a few pages back on this thread you should find it.

For the DLT, are odd numbers pressed on the throttle and even on the joystick, or the opposite? Or do they alternate?
Does anybody know or have a good guess how much if at all the mechanical and math sections factor into AQR/PFAR/FOFAR? I have read through a lot of this forum and I’ve seen some differing answers. i am taking my first attempt on the 28th, mech is by far my weakest section. I want to know how best to prioritize study time if I should focus heavy on mech since that’s where im weakest or continue mostly studying for ANIT and PBM?

I wish I had studied more for mechanical. I think mechanical and math definitely factor into the AQR.

ASTB SCORES 47 5/7/6
Decent foundation for my first attempt today, I’m considering keeping these since I’m a little overwhelmed with the curriculum of my graduate level courses and don’t have time to study ASTB stuff for a while. I’m open for Pilot or NFO. I put about 2 weeks of studying and practicing the PBM sims.
I wish they had a practice run for the emergency procedures, not sure why it’s the only one they don’t but it fucked me for the beginning of the portion of the test.

I'm trying to prepare for the ASTB. I've been using the prep app, Mometrix guide and Kyle's gouge. But I am struggling on the math. I thought I was doing fairly well in the prep app but when I went to take the practice test it felt like half the stuff wasn't talked about. Mometrix just tells you how to do things but doesn't give any practice unless you just want to take the practice tests over and over. Then I can't make it past any of the math questions in Kyle's gouge without searching how to solve them. I've always done well in math classes but I've been out of college for awhile and it feels like I've lost brain cells
Utilize Chatgpt or grok for help on math. It will show you how to solve a problem.

Hi everyone. I am starting to crack into the gomez & kyle drive for math and mechanical. There is SO much information and many documents. Anyone have a reccomendation on where to start and how to attack it?

Yea man AI can be helpful, but also takes some of the learning out of the process. I would run back through the prep app math tutorials with the quizzes maybe? The app gives you a quick run down how to do a type of problem and then if you are struggling check out youtube to learn further if need be, and then just do a ton of practice problems to solidify.

When I was studying for the ASTB i also had to be in third gear for Math since the only highest math course i took in college was College Algebra and the most useful things I used besides the Kyle/Gomez was also Duran Learning on YouTube. He goes in-depth problem after problem, giving you the rundown on each question and how to solve them. I am forever in his debt Lol.
