Not to be the "Too Long; Didn't Read" guy, but could someone link me the most recent OAR study guide from this thread? "To save another man's time is divine." Thanks in advance.

I’ve been lurking this site for about a month, and took the ASTB-E for the first time today after studying relentlessly and scouring this forum for info. Here are the results,

49 OAR
6 AQR
8 PFAR
7 FOFAR

Currently active duty E-6 in the Navy, looking to become a Naval Aviator or Naval Flight Officer. Can’t list GPA, haven’t finished my degree just yet. Thanks to all who have posted their experiences here. I could have done better, but time is of the essence due to my age, and I couldn’t put it off any longer. Currently 26 years old, should commission around 27-28 if/when I am selected for OCS.
Goin the same route, except I'm E5 and 21. Hope to see you there soon.

Are there any recruiters familiar with I-SEL on this forum? I am planning to marry my fiancé in a few weeks, she is currently enlisted as HM. I just submitted my package for I-SEL about two weeks ago and am still waiting to hear back. If there is a recruiter who is familiar, how will this effect me going forward?

Hey all, this may seem like a stupid question but I was gifted the AFOQT study books a while back. I have recently decided to go Navy. Is there a big difference between the AFOQT and the ASTB study guide books? Would it be worth dropping the money on getting the specific ASTB books when I already have the ones for AFOQT? They are the mometrix and test prep books.

Hello Gang! I am using the ASTB Prep app on Mac with the x52 to practice the PBM tests (like many others). Been at it for about 4 days now. For the rear cockpit sim, when I am joystick only MONEY. But as soon as I introduce throttles, my performance begins to tank (I do have EP's turned on and DLT off at the moment). What did yall do to improve this? Also, for the UAV portion I am getting the answers in 3 - 3.5 sec using the compass technique (physically rotating the compass rose as I see the heading). How can I get my speed down to 2 - 2.5 sec?

Hello,

A few months back, I went in blind and took my first ASTB and got a 5/3/5 57. Today, my second attempt landed me at 6/7/6 52. I studied for about a month and practiced whatever I could using the ASTB Prep App and the Gomez Drives, but I’m very disappointed in not having made 7/7/7 immediate select.

My recruiter says my scores are competitive to put in as a pilot, but the board (which I hear gets cancelled often, especially with the influx of those who want to become pilots) convenes in July and my result won’t be out my August.

Even with the risk of my third and final score being “worse”, I want to try taking it again in hopes of 7/7/7 or better.

With that said, I’m here to ask for two things:
1. Should I put in my packet and hope for the best, or should I consider retaking ASTB for the final time? I’m 29, and I want to make it as a pilot ASAP, since my age is nearing the limit. I’m not sure what to do..
2. I’ve seen a lot of material that I don’t recall studying. For the ANIT, I’ve seen terms I haven’t come across in neither the Baron book, ASTB Prep, or Gomez Drives. I’ve also had questions that I don’t recall coming across while studying for the mechanical portion. In fact, I’ve hardly had any of the questions from the materials I’ve been studying. It seems I have to expand my resource repertoire.. does anybody have any more resources that I can use for my final take?

Also, during the Terrain portion, the computer started to freeze and the screens would only update every 5 seconds or so. The recruiter told me it’s a known issue, but it sucked a lot seeing the timer run down in chunks and having my selections be delayed by seconds.

Thank you all in advance, and much respect for you all. I have no idea how you all got the score you all did!
