12 JUN 18 IWC Board

No, the OCMs and PMs are still the waiver handling authority.

Coming from the IWC CM
"IT2 -
In the last few months, the process has, unfortunately, changed. Waivers are
no longer being granted by the OCMs. You will need to request an exception to
policy from the Admiral (RADM Nowell - OPNAV N13). Attached is the ETP
template....."

I believe this is the only CNP that has allowed any ETP, with the others you either met it or you didn't.
Yeah.....they never gave out waivers or ETPs for applications to OCS before this CNP... large[1].jpg

This will be my last response. Good luck to everyone on this board and to future posters.

Make sure you do your research in addition to listening to the advice on this board. Take some of it with a grain of salt.

I don't mean to encroach here, I have been lurking to see @Anthony Cardenas results because he was so happy for me and I want to be happy for him, but can you do this for the IWC boards, Vincent? I am so curious.

@LadyAsh

Here you go! Now, I had to count them by hand and I may have miscounted on a few of the total rejected or fleet numbers by +/- 1 or 2. However this should give you a really good look at the stats of the board results since March 2017. Hope this helps others as well!

It is interesting how the numbers of those applying have dropped/fluctuated significantly over the past several years.

Checking in for this board, I'm applying for intel. Had one or two people tell me I'm "competitive," but I have no optimistic illusions after seeing all the applicants with advanced degrees, and the fact that the boards seem to want STEM degrees anyway. Well, can't hurt to try. Good luck to everyone.

Age: 22
OAR: 59
Undergrad GPA: 3.63 (graduating in a week)
Double Major: 1) Political Science w/ concentration in international relations and 2) Economics
Prior work experience as an intern (Research Assistant) at the Army War College
Only two LORs worth noting, one from a former professor of mine who is a retired Army O-4 (also did some notable civilian side DoD stuff), and one from the research professor I worked for at the War College.

I got picked up with similar stats (also just graduated undergrad in May) back in Dec., thought I did have a few other internships and LORs/appraisals from active duty. I think you have a solid shot, but obviously I don’t know what the rest of your package and motivational statement look like, or everyone else’s. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you’d like to see what I put in for my package, or if you want some advice (if you don’t get picked up this round) that was given to me to boost my package when I was applying. Good luck!

If it's something you really want to do, the worst they can say is no. If you really want to be a naval officer above all else, you'll likely have a good shot at aviation or SWO as well. Best of luck!

First time submitting my package after preparing it 2 times before and getting side tracked by Nuke school and Submarine operations. I have learned a lot and hope to make it before I finish up my enlistement next year. Is it you can resubmit an application 6 months from the results being released or is it 6 months from when the board convenes?
