I don't think he was referring to Cyber Warfare Engineer. IW was recently renamed to CW (cryptologic warfare officer)...that's what he is referring to.

---------------

The most beneficial thing working for me heading into Monday is that I'm currently filling an Intelligence Officer (O-3) billet at the Pentagon. I'm the first enlisted Sailor in history to provide the CNO and VCNO the weekly intelligence update, have also briefed several DCNOs, DDNI, and MCPON. I have authored a lot of work that is seen at the highest executive levels of our Navy have a very diverse history in my short time in the Navy (Intel/Operations center in Hawaii, time aboard a Carrier, IA deployment to Afghanistan, and currently stationed at The Pentagon).

Obviously what I have working against me is the very humble OAR score and a degree that likely isn't quite as prestigious as many of the others competing. The fact that zero fleet Sailors were taken last board and the trending average of high 50's OAR scores are causing me to temper my expectations. Though my strong recommendations, diverse history in the field, and demonstrated performance are giving me cautious optimism.

If any of the recruiters can give me any insight to how things may shape out for me, it would be much appreciated.

I am truly impressed at the diversity and impressive backgrounds of those applying. It is cutting hairs when selection rates are this tough, I truly wish everyone the best of luck!!

I'm on this board, Intel was my 3rd choice, would that hurt my chances? I know the SWO board doesn't like being your 3rd choice.

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had any insight into how long the wait normally takes? My application is in for this and I am very anxious!

Also good luck to everyone!

The answer is normally around 2 weeks from the convene date to post results from the board.

Got this email from my recruiter today...pretty frustrating...hope you all better luck than me!

ALCON,

It is with deep regret that I inform you that your kits did not make it to the June 13 2016 board. I am sure all of you are quite irritated at me right now, but please rest assured that this was not an issue on my side. The processor, despite numerous conversations and assistance in cleaning up the kits, failed to turn the kits into the board on time and held onto them well past the deadline.
Your kits are in the system for the September 2016 boards and will be reviewed then. I have informed the chain of command of this issue and they are taking steps to rectify the issue so it does not happen again.

Please accept my sincerest apologies and trust me when I say that this is NOT the way we normally operate.

I am incredibly sorry this happened to you... The same exact thing happened to me on the March board! Despite submitting my package prior to the deadline and receiving conformation of receipt, the OCS processors failed to process it in time and rolled my package to the next board (this one). I understand your frustrations, I actually didn't receive a notification, my chain of command called and found out around the time results should have been posted.

Best of luck to you in the future, I hope it works out for you in September!

I would put this failure to make board right on the shoulders of your OR and here is why.

1) looks like he never had a conversation with the OACR/OPS who directs the processors and could have directed them in their workload.
2) "assistance in cleaning up the kits" so he is saying he submitted sloppy work?? that means HE is the one that screwed you all, a kit submitted that is done right just gets routed, signed, and scanned in little time.
3) he is just telling you now?? the deadline was a month ago how clueless is this OR that it took him weeks past the deadline to figure out they didn't make the board??

And this guy throws his processor under the bus, WTF? you don't do that, if you need to say something to a person outside the COC you say something like an internal process that we have did not work as it should have.

If your OR is an E-6 or below they are not ready for CPO, if they are a CPO that is embarrassing, and if an Officer they should know better.
