was told it helps get selected but doesn't hurt if you don't have any. not sure how true.None
I had zero hours and I got selected, many others have as well
you didn't get picked up with a 9 on the PFAR?Yeah I know exnavy says it’s consistent above and I’m sure he’s right. But I had a 9 PFAR and 3.25 gpa with no non medical waivers. Maybe the honesty test during the astb killed me because I had no idea if I was telling the truth or not![]()
I had several with flight hours, even PPL who scored 5 and 6 that were never picked up.was told it helps get selected but doesn't hurt if you don't have any. not sure how true.
there seems to be no agreement on if it helps or how much. for example, I was told that having "professional aviation experience" helps. It also begs the question, if it has zero impact why make you put it on your APSR (on the second page)?I had several with flight hours, even PPL who scored 5 and 6 that were never picked up.
It doesn't, the only benefit is know you won't get airsick in the initial training. The USN will teach you how to fly their way, they don't want to have to break bad habits, that was a direct quote from a senior member at NRC who would sit aviation boards.there seems to be no agreement on if it helps or how much. for example, I was told that having "professional aviation experience" helps. EDIT:
in my case, my recruiter strongly urged me to go deep into my leadership and aviation experience for my motivational statement. I'm not hoping for it get me the golden goose, but hopefully it helps me secure SNA/SNFO

Sometimes there is something we on this forum are not aware of and without looking at each application we just don't know. It is rare for a person to have a 9 and get a N but it does happen, sometimes the board just misses something or moves a person to N that is meant to be a yes, they do move very fast. I have seen a few with 5's and 6's picked up, it could be they have seen a good GPA and want to take a chance, or prior service and will to see how they do.got it!
it does make you question why some with 8s and 9s did get selected yet some here with 5s and 6s got selected, stating their only difference is aviation experience.
Same. Mine told me to talk about my aviation experience and leadership qualities I've learned over time in college.EDIT:
