I feel you man! She wants out of our town/neighborhood so badly and desperately needs better health insurance that I simply can’t get in my current profession. I think she’ll be much more OK with this once there’s an end date to look at on the calendar. But as of right now everything is a nebulous uncertainty that could stretch anywhere from 1 to 3 years for all we know. There’s a lot of reasons I want to do this like doing something so worthwhile in service and learning to fly, but wanting to provide a better life for my wife and kids is a major factor as well!

More like a start date to the next long term evolution of relationship expectation management

There are always fluctuations sometimes due to less or more attrition at USNA and NROTC, sometimes due to manning going up or down. It appears in this case it is probably a case of low attrition at USNA/NROTC and manning overall going down.
Why do you think manning is going down?

Oh Lord... Am I right in assuming that us May board applicants, if we are accepted, wouldn't have an OCS date until late 2023 at the earliest and probably not until 2024?

I'll be interested to see how many of these adjustments they make and where the dates fall but I really wouldn't think this would be the case. Original distribution for last board IIRC was for the most part January - May, heavy in the middle. If their moving things around selections from our board being later 2022 is within reason. Spitballing I would imagine worst case scenario for next board would be mid 2023. My brother was on last board and was selected SNFO 2 JAN, hasn't heard anything else from his recruiter.

The uncertainty is the most difficult part. Impossible to explain to people who aren't actively in the process

Got pushed from the May and August boards. Retook the ASTB and got a 50 7/9/7 improving from 50 6/6/5 . CFI with 400+ hours at 30 years old. Still a bit on edge with all of this talk lately.
What did u do to improve the triple numbers?

space at OCS doesn't mean anything, it is by specific designator spots, if only 15 spots are allocated for SNA that is all there is and if the rest are Supply and SWO that don't get filled then so be it.

Imagine that on AD and everyone around you constantly asking “how is your officer package going” every single day from the moment you start it. Yea I’ll take the lady occasionally asking “so are we still pcs’ing to Oklahoma. Lol
