My recruiter is currently trying to get her boss to pull some strings and see if I can get an update. Another job wants me to start Monday. It's a pretty serious job that I need to do some training for but I don't want to commit to them only to quit less than a week into it. Hopefully, that's a compelling enough reason to get an update. If I hear anything I'll be sure to post it.

Is it possible to be sent to OCS with a 4 day heads up? I saw a few guys on the last board say they had 5 days to drop everything and go.

I'm in a similar situation, but starting in August and training through end of July. I'm still able to retract my answer if I get selected, whereas your situation a week isn't much time.

I think they we're asked if they could ship that soon and they accepted. I don't think that's the norm, though.

I mean I'll still quit if I get selected but for the sake of not being that guy I'd like to to tell them before I start. But it's also about the investment into that job and how much time I need to spend memorizing and studying stuff. Just makes it a little worse to commit and then quit but at the end of the day I gotta do what I gotta do.
