24MAY2021 Pilot/NFO Board

COPTR dude
I'm separating next month. So, submitted for Aug board. But i had everything done for active duty submission but didn't get to submit.
Interesting situation, my AD ends late august and I got pushed to the AUG board, despite having submitted my package late February. So I was originally early, but now due to the backup I am late. Not sure how my stuff will go, or if I’ll have enough time to do an active duty extension. I’d def like to not have a gap in service.

Yes, it seems extremely hard to get into.

When I began the process with my Navy OR I sent an email to the OR for the Air Force (which by the way, is the only one for Northern California and Northwest Nevada) and I never heard back lol

Blue can be a hard guy to get ahold of. Also they canceled all boards til probably FY23 so that's most likely why he didn't respond. He's a good dude otherwise.

Absolutely. Hopefully that job will always be used for political intimidation. However, (just playing devils advocate, I’m gunning for the growler 100%) I would imagine that with the responsibilities of that job and the clearances, you would be set up for a pretty cool job post navy.
Their clearances don’t go higher than TS/SCI. Which is what just about every other community gets.

I’ve read a lot bios from Commander to flag rank to get an idea of their career path. One thing I don’t think I’ve ever seen from a URL that wasn’t prior enlisted is “commissioned out of OCS” or something similar.

Makes me wonder.

The breakdown will vary but here is a list if someone is really bored and wants to figure it out.

In my experience I find those from the USNA will get right out after their 5 year commitment, or they will stick it out for 20, it seems that after the USNA if they can handle the "fun" that comes along with being in the USN they will stay but the others say screw this and bolt.

The ones from OCS I have seen many stay until close to 10 and then leave. The NROTC guys are similiar from what I have seen to the ones from USNA.

If you are referring to Pilot spots yes, the USAF recruiters we interacted with could take engineers and ones that wanted to sit in silos all the time, of course most of the people that contacted them wanted to fly and they rarely had those spots.

Last I saw it was 48 for NFO and 96 for SNA out of about 200, but I don’t even know where those numbers came from but they should be around page 140ish I think
Those numbers came from someone seeing the remaining numbers of respective quotas on the GENoff dashboard. The actual number could be more or less.

I wish there was a way to know how many people were considered for SNFO.
It would only be estimates until the final results came out but there was around 201 applicants on the “AT Board” list but after the list came out there were a few, like myself, that weren’t on the list but later confirmed to be on the board. I bring that up because the number floating around for SNA and NFO selects from this board are merely speculations, just as the accurate number on the actual board.
