Had a buddy who would constantly state the stock market was going to tank even further back in march-April. He was doing option trading,the last time i talked to him i think he lost 5-10k in one sitting

Never thought of how to leverage that in defense to be honest. That is pretty interesting.

I've wanted to go military my whole childhood - was an idiot after HS and then made it my mission to set things straight so went into finance and pursued that. Realized it's not actually what I wanted so going back to my original ambition. CFA was part of proving stuff to myself really at the end of the day

That is a lot of work to prove to yourself lol. Lvl 1 is probably the worse thing known to man.

If you can pass lvl 1 of the CFA you can get through OCS no problem.

I hear ya, big personal milestone to get 80th percentile in that for myself. Definitely gives you confidence and self discipline.

Oof.. sad day for your friend. I’ve seen MANY margin calls in my day. Not a fun site to see.
