25JAN21 PILOT/NFO BOARD

Definitely a "false" on that one, several people here were not on November and have results.

Just threw me through a loop since he made it seem like he knew what I was talking about. Maybe he just likes messing with me and my smooth brain, we shall see tomorrow.

Someone who has spoke with their OR, find out where these unofficial results are being posted and I'll look for everyone! Or message me your OR's information and I'll ask them AD to AD and I'll leave you name out of it.

Usually, people aren't selected for both so the likelihood of "I'm sure you'll get it for SNA as well", is probably not an accurate statement.

You can turn down NFO and reapply for the next board for SNA, that's your prerogative. If I were you I'd try to bump the PFAR to an 8. You may have been selected for NFO because the score was higher. I bet he was an OR like several that seemed to submit for NFO without applicants knowledge.
This was the same thing for me today with my recruiter. He even said he would look into it, because he wanted to cover his “ass”. So unsure of what happened, but he seemed a bit freaked out about it..

Question: Has anyone on here that applied for BOTH designators get Pro Rec Y for both?

@Ghostswo
This was my 3rd time taking the test, my scores are stuck and I received 7/7/7 so score wasn’t higher for NFO category. He submitted without my knowledge.

Ah I see, I must have looked at the wrong name on the Excel.

I applied for both but was only told I got accepted for NFO. Doesn’t make sense since my scores were 6/7/6 so I thought I’d be more qualified for SNA. Hoping it’s a fluke and my recruiter calls to let me know I got accepted for both ?

I scored higher for SNA so that’s interesting.

The thing is that the entire application is supposed to be complete and then the applicant signs it, there should be no changes to the application after it is signed. If the issue was pushed the OR could get in trouble, especially if there was an email trail of the applicant telling the OR that they only wanted to apply to SNA.

There is a text message and email trail of us solely talking about Pilot, I never mentioned interest in NFO in any of our threads nor verbal convos. The goal and topic of discussion has always been SNA. I do remember signing off on my application but don’t remember it saying NFO anywhere. All my LORs & motivational statement also imply that I’m going for pilot.

I went down to the office today to speak to him personally and double check that I was actually put in for SNA & to ask him why he pushed my package with both designators without my permission. He showed me on his computer that I indeed was put in for SNA also and the slot is still showing up as empty on GENOFF. He mentioned that my package “slipped through the cracks, and was just a habit to put both as most applicants want both on their package”

I expressed my concerns about my chances for what I really wanted being reduced but he reassured me it would have no effect and that applicants get picked up for 2 or even 3 at a time for different designators. I’m sure that’s true, but this is such a unique board....

I asked about taking off NFO and saying it was a clerical error... he mentioned that it’s possible to retract me for NFO on that basis but at this point I’m sure the board has already met & decided on the candidates they’ve selected it just hasn’t been entirely updated on GENOFF

I guess the only thing I can do is cross my fingers and wait for Pro- Rec Y to pop up.

Does anyone have any suggestions, questions, insight?

I want to do anything possible to make this better, Who can I call or talk to?
Even if I have to wait till next board again, I will BUT if this is going to hurt my application for the next round then what’s the point.... I’d rather take NFO then nothing.....

Please chime in if you know of anything or seen someone in this similar situation.

Dude...Same. 7/8/7 and selected NFO. I know I didnt even know that NFO was on my application until wayyyy later in the process. Im still happy with getting picked up for NFO, but am curious on the process to select those who did SNA only vs. SNA/SNFO

This is the problem with having OR's that aren't CPO's or officers work on officer applications, they feel pressure and do things they shouldn't (guessing the OR was E-6 or below) it was rare for anything like this to happen before so not too sure on the recourse except apply again and put down what happened, who cares if you call out the OR for doing a shitty job as he knows the rules and should have followed them.

If the OR gives a big push-back then maybe the applicant mentions it to their parents, and maybe those parents don't like what is happening, and then maybe those parents contact their congressman/woman and then maybe the OR can explain in a congressional investigation how he didn't follow the rules. Just maybe I have seen something like this happen before........
I was accepted as an SWO, which I didn’t want, the OR made me fill out all choices 4 in total with SWO being 4. I filled out an official letter and declined the offer. As soon as the letter was entered into the system I was added to the next aviation board where I was selected as an SNFO. Still had a horrible experience with my OR , nearly a 2 year process and he was an E7, after meeting with the XO, I was given a new recruiter

On the October thread, no one was offered both. This is according to the official selection results with over 172 selectees. I checked the list for duplicates. None.

There was a guy who was offered SNA in August but he never wanted SNA so he turned it down, resubmitted in October. He was selected for NFO in October.
