31OCT22 SNA/SNFO BOARD

So I'm guessing this board will be more competitive than recent boards due to all of the would-be August applicants being pushed to this one, right? Same number of SNA/SNFO slots to give out combined with more applicants to pick from?

Or are they pooling the August quota into October's, making the selection goal twice as much resulting in a greater chance of being selected?

Edit: This is assuming the rumors are true and the August board really is cancelled.
The number of May select indicates the quotas for August were used in May.

Ah okay, I think I'm referencing outdated information then. At one point, there was a PDF of the FY22 board scheudle floating around on one of the threads and it states the October's board focus was to pick FY23 quota.
That went out the window a long time ago, normally that plan would hold true

Turned in the last file to my recruiter last week, and I'm all submitted for the 31OCT board! I initially reached out to a recruiter in February, opted not to apply for the May board, and then didn't bother with the August board because I was disappointed with my first ASTB. Retook and am now feeling pretty confident.

Oh yeah, I can agree with that. I initiated first contact with NTAG back in December. Didn't have a single clue of the journey I was about to embark on. After changing recruiters twice and after countless documents & hours of preparation, here we are!

Hopefully my persistence pays off.
Yea man. Hope to see you on the other side

After some miscommunication with my command, I finally got the last document I need routed. Should be back within 30 days and I’ll be able to submit. Been a L O N G process. But timing is definitely key!
Since you are ISPP you can study what you need for OCS and not worry about board results.

True that. I just want the comfort of knowing my package is in on time. Had my YNC today try and tell me “the boards are just to pick FY quotas, they review applications year round”. Had to explain to her this is it. March Ocs date would be the latest for me before I need an age waiver. All is good now though I should be on time package wise.

If by year-round she means spring, summer, fall, and winter then technically that is correct LOL

Too often I saw AD screwed over because CPO's, and/or officers "thought" they knew how things worked without actually looking into it, that goes for qualifications, boards, and OCS spots.

Definitely. I had to bring out the at-board lists and selection lists to prove my case. Obviously in a respectful manner. She did say she only ever dealt with STA-21 apps. I tell junior guys all the time doing your own research for your career will go a long way.

Lol the mpte site don’t work like it used to. They store that stuff somewhere else now
It's still on mtpe you just have to have access to the genoff page on the right side of the screen. Typically even enlisted recruiters have access if you can find a prior recruiter at your command.

How does everyone’s communication go with your recruiters? Do they usually respond promptly? I’m on my second recruiter, and while they have both been really nice, they don’t really respond. I’ve had the most success calling but things are still moving slow.

For example, last week I figured out none of my medical documents have been submitted to MEPS yet.

I know this whole process is “hurry up and wait” but it seems kind of odd that my lasik documents haven’t been submitted. Does it take time for recruiters to do that?
