You guys might appreciate this. I had some down-time at work and reorganized the At-Board list from the November 2021 board (yes, all 301 applicants!!) so you can see how well you stack up to the selection board. I color-coated the PROREC-Ys (in Green), PROREC-Ns (in Red), and DO NOT RETURNs (in Black w/ Red letters). I put filters on so you don't need to complain about anonymous animals on here :D

Enjoy!
Come on, folks. Please do not post personal information like that ever again. File removed. Strongly recommend that anyone who downloaded it delete it too.

I think some data scrubbing like name, DOB, etc would have been good, and then keeping the scores and their color codings/results would have been nice.

Like first initial/last initial with age instead of full DOB.

No... you're completely missing the point here. There is a reason applicant data isn't publicly released. Additionally, each applicant signs a privacy act statement acknowledging their info to be shared and maintained between Navy recruiting and the applicant. Nowhere does that say "used for Airwarriors". Selections lists are posted on the Navy sharepoint website... not on a public website.

I'm sure the majority of applicants wouldn't care... but I'm certain there are others who do not want their information be shared with outside channels.

Going back to the lesson here... if someone has an idea, ASK/BRING IT UP. Process improvement is never discouraged, however it should always be brought up and bought off on before actually executing. Sailors, including officers have gotten in deep shit for "good ideas" that were never communicated with the right folks.

Fair enough. So I'm curious about how you feel about the spreadsheets floating around that have been made? Like the ones where people put their scores and then indicate afterwards whether or not they were selected. I'm assuming that would be okay because it's not official data from the Navy, it's people giving the information of their own free will.
Me personally? I wouldn't care if someone saw my scores if there were no indication of them being attached to me, but I understand that some people may not feel the same and I would respect that.
I think this situation serves as a good lesson for everyone in the forum on privacy. Thank you for your insight.

No issues with the board spreadsheets, since that's merely voluntary (i.e. AWs posters put info there).

I would caution, it's still very much GOUGE and boards can change... for instance someone with a 50/7/7/7 might be selected one board but the same score may not if there are better candidates or fewer spots. It can be a solid baseline but it should not be FULL on information applicants 100% rely on.

As the saying goes, live by the gouge, die by the gouge.

Just got off the phone with my OR and he said that since I didn't get selected for SNFO on the November board, I won't be able to apply for SNFO and SNA at the same time for October until I get better ASTB scores. Is there any rhyme or reason to this, or is he just wanting me to take the test again? @exNavyOffRec or @FormerRecruitingGuru

Also, he says I'll have to go to MEPS again. But that's just for a post-Lasik eye inspection, right?

I would imagine it's just so you can go and not only just have better scores in general but also to show improvement. What were your scores this time around?
My last scores were 6/7/6.

You can't apply for any designator in general or just 1SNA-2SNFO?
He said I can apply for SNA, just not SNFO, 1SNA-2SNFO, or 1SNFO-2SNA. I find that hard to believe, but what do I know.

I’m pretty sure the rules are you either have to wait 6 months or make a significant change in your package to reapply to the same designator which could be why you’re being told to apply SNA instead of SNFO

My recruiter told me way back before my ASTB that I needed at least trip 7s for "auto-qual" as an SNA. Pretty sure that's not ACTUALLY a thing, but it increases your odds significantly to the point where you're *probably* getting selected.

Do you have any retakes left? If this was your first time I would retake. If you only have 1 shot, I think maybe resubmit and then if you get a PROREC-N again, study extra hard and retake.
My OR said the same thing, he said auto qual was a thing from the past but said trip 7's is what's gonna make you competitive.
