31OCT22 SNA/SNFO BOARD

That is really freaking awesome!!
One hell of an experience! Met the XO of the Black Knights and had dinner with him on the ship. He’s in nuke school now. We’re still in contact and he wrote one of my letters of rec, definitely some awesome people in the navy!

Sounds like a great experience! How did you get to experience this?

Believe it or not the FlyNavy twitter posted a trivia question, 19 year old me replied not thinking anything of it. Next I know I’m on the flight deck watching super hornets trap !
You got lucky as hell!! Good for you man! This means you're getting selected

How many of you guys have submitted already?

I'm getting nervous being so close to the deadline and I haven't even been to MEPS yet. My medical paperwork was submitted for review and approval to go ahead and scheudle my visit but it's been a while and we haven't heard anything. Idk if that's a bad sign or if they're just backed up with paperwork right now.
I’m in the same situation, though probably for a shorter time period than you have been. MEPS did request additional medical documents from me(maybe a sign that stuff is moving?) but I had my recruiter switched again and haven’t been able to contact the new one. So not too sure if I’ll make it.

I wonder how much of a difference it would make in our OCS dates if we ended up applying to a board next year instead.

I recently had to fulfill my commitment with my previous job and had some other things that prevented me from getting a package together sooner than I had hoped. I have not taken the ASTB or submitted any medical paperwork. Is it even possible to have this all completed by the mid September deadline? If not, when would the next opportunity be? This is something I have wanted to do for a long time, life has just been getting in the way…thank you everyone for all your information.
