31OCT22 SNA/SNFO BOARD

24 pushing 25. Yeah man. That fact dawned on me the other day ? and I thought 9 months of putting together my package was a long wait.

Atleast if we Pro-Rec-Y on this board, the wait won't be so brutal.
Want the Pro-Rec now so I can at least be less miserable waiting around ? honestly I’m okay with that though, gives me some time to work more and pay off a little student loans lol

Same here, I supplied what they needed last week and my OR said he forwarded it to MEPS, that was the last update I've received. Hopefully I hear something back soon, the anticipation is killing me.
I also supplied them with the requested records last week, but they switched my recruiter again and I don’t know if he sent it in yet. That alone is killing me haha.
I'd assume that we would get class dates around the same time as this board, since they are already selecting FY24 quota.
Hopefully so, then missing this board wouldn’t be too bad in the long run!

How does it work if I wanted to enlist while I wait for SNFO board results and ocs ship dates? Email I got from my recruiter says results in November/December and expect OCS ship dates 6-9 months after. I was on the august board but I guess that’s now become the November one haha

1) The August board got cancelled, so we're all here for the next one scheduled for October

2) You want to enlist while waiting for board results? I don't think it works like that at all. Enlisting would mean that you've committed to doing a different job in the Navy for the next however many years.

I’m in the same situation, though probably for a shorter time period than you have been. MEPS did request additional medical documents from me(maybe a sign that stuff is moving?) but I had my recruiter switched again and haven’t been able to contact the new one. So not too sure if I’ll make it.

I wonder how much of a difference it would make in our OCS dates if we ended up applying to a board next year instead.
I went to MEPS in April they requested more docs. Submitted them. Requested more. Submitted and took a month to clear MEPS. N3M then got them, requested more. Today I finally got approved and physically qualified and I had a laundry list of disqualifying factors. Best advice get everything you can to help.

It doesn’t work. If you want to be an officer then be an officer. If you want the joys of being enlisted and bottom of the totem pole by all means go enlisted. But I highly suggest you research this forum and the many of us enlisted people that say “Don’t go enlisted first”. If you think this wait sucks, trying to go enlisted to officer will be much longer. At a minimum 2 year wait from making it to your first duty station assuming you got all qual’s and are a hard charger with the backing of your COC who needs your enlisted billet filled more than they need you to become an officer. Rant over

Just FYI, I am that hard charger fully qualified individual and it has already been a two year process from me actually starting the process and it hasn’t been easy. Just some insight ??‍♂️

August applicants will auto forward to October if it did indeed cancel right? I got an email stating my package was at august review, so just curious

Thank you for the insight and advice! Really been trying to figure out what I’ll do if I don’t get selected. I am my recruiters first package so they’re still learning a lot about the process and I really don’t get a lot of information.

There are many that were recently selected with dates of FY 24 and those will start going in July 2023, it is possible some could go in 6 months, or 9 months, but better to plan for up to a year.

Your scores will be the deciding factor, 7's or better and you should be in good shape.
