Yeah, you need to pass a PRT within a month of shipping out to OCS.

Makes sure they're not wasting their time sending you.

There's a thread on here about the pre ocs prt being phased out. I just talked to my recruiter about finalizing some stuff before I head out, and he said I probably will not do the prt before I go. He did say "probably" so who knows for sure.

Pre-Ship PRT

I have a PRT appointment on January 10 before my January 30 OCS date. It's so weird to me that some people's recruiters would say opposing things to what others say. Regardless, I'm scheduled to do the 30 days out PRT.

What are you guys hearing in terms of Christmas? At first I was told we'd be up there the whole time, and I've read a post on here that indicated the same. When I checked in with the recruiters a couple days ago, they said the winter stand-down applied to us as well. Has anyone heard anything definitive on this?

What we've all been hearing is that we indeed do get to leave Newport for the stand down if we so choose. I booked my flights already.
