Good luck, brother!Just checking in. This is my second attempt, fingers crossed! Best of luck to everyone!
Now that everyone here has (presumably) submitted their packet for this board: who are all of you?
Barring stats, I recently graduated university with a degree in Spanish Literature. I am often reading and playing tennis and I used to edit my university's student-run newspaper.
This is my first OCS application, so I'm excited for this board to meet.
What about the rest of you? Have any of you considered other jobs or designations in the Navy?
VC
I joined the Navy Active Duty in 2008 as a Hospital Corpsman. Absolutely love it. After I had a blast at my first command I Continually worked on earning my Bachelor's degree and finally finished in 2017. By this I was an HM1. I have great leadership exprience and versility. I currently work at a Naval brig as a Corrections Specialist. I considered going for Supp-O but then they switched it up and said applicants cannot have more than 6 years AD. That took me out. I went for SWO and I'm actually glad I did. It seems to be a better fit.
I hear ya! I turned in my package two weeks ago and last week I got the letter from N3M requested further information to make a determination. The next day I sent them about 350 pages of medical notes. Now im just patiently waiting to hear back and hope that I can make it onto this August board. Good luck to you!Hello! I am also applying to August board! Application is submitted I just hit another obstical. The new N3M required a CT scan of a facial fracture I had in 2014. Turns out it didn’t heal. Civilian doctor said it’s not an issue since it’s not apart of my facial structure. It’s a very hard to reach bone within my sinuses. Hoping my last piece of documentation doesn’t get me DQ’d.....
Call Mr. Ted Williams. There's a chance they rolled you to the next board (Feb 2019).I hear ya! A few of my friends who picked up said their chain of command informed them about 3-4 days after the board conviened. My YN buddy who picked up a few months ago found out 2 days after from his CSC and CO. The Navy has been getting better about releasing board results in a timely manner.Anyone know how long it usually takes for results to come out after the board convenes?
I strongly recommend giving their office a call. (901) 874-9366 or ted.m.williams@navy.mil. You may need to call several times before they pick up.Is he in the same department as Mr. Paul Celestin? That is who I have been working with. I have just been checking my email multiple times a day to see if I get anything back from N3M via Mr. Celestin. Last time I talked to him (last week when I submitted the requested notes for N3M) he just said that he couldn't tell me for sure whether I would be on this board or not. Just depends on whether or not N3M makes a determination or not. While I would be really bummed if I got rolled to the next board....my biggest worry would be if I have to redo any of my package. Hopefully my medical paperwork would still be good for the next board. Also, an interview appraisal and an LOR may be over a year old by the time that board in February comes around. Heard everything should be within a year to be current.
If they roll me to the next board that may give me the opportunity to retake my OAR (current score is 50).
