My understanding is you say when you are first available, and then the Navy takes it from there. You don't exactly get to pick the most convenient class for you, but you can say that date doesn't work, then get thrown back into the class lottery.
Thanks for the quick replies, guys! I see there is a March class but I'm aiming for the 08 April one so I can give my current job a little more notice and get more physically/mentally ready.
I’m in this same boat. I asked this question to my recruiter and he basically said “finsel is final, you have to go to that OCS unless you’re injured or very sick with a doctor’s note.”
I’m mostly worried they’re going to send me a finsel letter for the Mar18 class with a week and a half notice like Meyerkord. I have two jobs to give notice for, a dog to rehome, a lease to cancel, furniture to sell, and a plethora of other affairs to handle before I can up and move to Rhode Island, so 4-5 weeks notice would be greatly preferable.
Can anyone confirm or deny what mke07 said? I want to believe him over my recruiter but I’m skeptical.
