Nice...I've been looking for a range (not too hard...but a lil bit). I'll have to check that out.

Awesome. You Penscola guys want to organize a range day sometime soon? Could be a lot of fun.

I always shot at Santa Rosa Sporting Clays in Pace off Quintette Rd when I was in VT-6, so did alot of the instructors. Pretty reasonable prices and decent facilities, pistol, rifle and of course shotty's. The sporting clay course was OK, I prefer outdoor ranges so the rifle/pistol suited me just fine.

Hmm...wonder if I saw you there. There were three of us that would go over there a couple of times and alternate between the clays, the pistol range (w/ my 1911), and the rifle range (with a M-1).

Not trying to poo-poo feddoc's post, but that is a bit of a haul to get over to CEW, even from Milton/Pace.

Could be, I would go with my XD45, Mossy shotgun and usually a .22 to plink with. Haven't shot my XD since I left there 8 months ago, ammo is getting steep for that one.

Go join the range in Cantonement. It's called Escambia River Muzzle Loaders.

Have to be a member of the NRA. Go to Jays in Pensacola and fill out the form. $75 for the whole year. If you are looking to shoot regularly, it is a good deal. Better than the $11 a crack at the public range on Quintette RD.

I picked up my ERML membership about a week ago. It's better than Santa Rosa sporting clays, but you have to make your own target stand. The soil is really hard clay, so making something that pounds into the dirt doesn't work. I used a couple 2x4s and a 4x3 piece of plywood.

So you have to build it at home and bring it with you every time?
