I stopped riding my bike in the winter time after a couple traumatic bike trips. Before the Navy when I only had my bike I was an idiot and drove back to AZ (at night) when the temps gradually dropped to like 20 as I got closer to college. All I had on was my riding jacket, a couple of layers underneath, my simple breathing riding gloves and skate shoes. No doubt I was an idiot for riding in those conditions, but I thought I was gonna lose a couple fingers and toes when I got back. It was pretty damn painful when they defrosted.

Then there was the time I was riding back through a small twisty road at night when it started to rain. I had my bike for a total of a week at the time. It started to rain and I decided to pull over to put on my rain gear. As I pulled off the road I hit gravel and skidded. I flew off my bike and had to wait for a trucker to drive by to help me get it up (not much grip on a down slope of gravel).

I can't wait for spring though...love riding...in warm weather!
 
my karate teacher used to put his bike inside his house for the winter. I always laughed when I saw that. He cared for that thing like a child.

Shit, I would too if my doors were wide enough ... and if I could somehow get my 700lb or 800lb bike up those three stairs without it touching anything (or dropping it). My bike still has priority over my ENTIRE carport. The wifes car and my truck get to enjoy the rain. Believe it or not, wife hasn't even complained ... I got a good one fellas :D :tongue2_1
 
It starts I believe on the 2nd and goes through the 10th. I have friends that will be there all week but I think I will prob only be able to go over the 9th and 10th for the races.
 
Head up into the north Alabama and north Georgia mountains. Great trout fishing too, if you are so inclined. Lots of places to do some target shooting.
 
Let's ride

I have ridden a few places around here. Gulf Beach Hwy is nice and the ride out to Foley and back ain't bad. The wx is getting better and better!
