Speaking of the Blue Angels, did anyone see them in Chattanooga today? My ROTC unit took a bunch of us over, and since it was my first airshow, I was duly impressed. Definitely jet lust going on right now....

I know I am resurrecting a very old thread, but given the fact that there was a brief discussion about female Blue Angels somewhat recently in the "Another Skipper Relieved..." thread I thought people still might be interested in this.

Agreed here as well. I also find it ironic that people think that being a Blue is a life long aspiration of every person to every strap on a Hornet. I can probably count on one hand the number of qualified and capable people I know who actually want that job.

Unless they pull out the spring they use on the stick (you have to pull back 40 or 50 pounds of pressure just to keep the plane flying straight and level) I am not sure we will see a female Blue Angel 1-6 anytime soon.

Just for the record, she's not actually the first.

Apparently the first one just didn't make it to the show season.
