Along the lines of this thread discussion - DOD directive came out today calling for physical in-office headcounts both military and civ in all facilities and offices across services in DOD.
You could start by killing China Lake's "flex Friday" bullshit. Start there, then keep ripping through NAVAIR until you're left with a workforce of competent, present, and motivated individuals; because as it stands today, it's a football bat of an organization.

Not all of DOGE's ideas were meritless, they were just being executed by 19 year old dumbasses.

The AF killed "Family Days" for AD folks. We now have "Resiliency Days" which is different!!!! 😜 Also no more "Telework" and we have a new classification called "Mobile Work".

Also SECDEF mandating 4% of unit funding go to facility improvements, furniture, health and safety, heating/cooling, etc. The idea being it will cause units/commands to divest in buildings that are not core/critical to mission and improve the ones we keep.
Threadjack— I can’t tell you how many Navy/Joint buildings I’ve been in (across multiple bases and states) where someone has mentioned “Oh yeah, that was when the ceiling flooded, we had ankle deep water, and all the computers had to be replaced.” Hint, it’s more than five. What is with our roofing? Are sloped or angled roofs not a thing? That is not a Butler PA joke.

While we’re on a crazy idea, maybe don’t put all the NAVAIR Ordnance eggs in the one basket of misery that absolutely nobody want to live in.

Keep the actual critical “ka-boom” stuff there, but there is no reason the engineers need to all be in the meth capital of the United States.

MILCON and NAVFAC are more football bats.
