I have a lot of questions, but how is this remotely legal/constitutional?
Yeah, that’s rather soft legal soil. Set aside the monetary aspect, how will the aircraft be hardened for POTUS use? I don’t know much about the internal workings of AF1, but I’ll bet there are a few secret squirrel items in there, and just how many bugs and listening devices will be hidden in there? Lastly, you can maybe, maybe slip by the rules with a “donation” to the presidential library, but we all know Trump will continue to fly around in the thing and that would be…let’s be nice…extra-legal.

yeah, I'd like to see the cost and timeframe to get this thing configured for AF1 purposes, and then deconfigured. Dude's only got 44 months on his term left

Ditto. This is so odd.

Will this aircraft be configured as a VC-25 - with all the self protection and continuity-of-government systems in place?

Will it be flown and operated by the 89th AW? I have questions!!!

Even that article states that “The plane is considered one of the most lavish in the world.” No mention of delivering a shell of a 747 to alleviate the Boeing issues. It seems like Qatar wants to “gift” one of the most lavish jets in existence, have the US taxpayer fund the comms upgrades NOT the conversion into a VC-XX, and in 4 years it’ll be effectively privately owned, not in the AF1 rotation.

Plus, maybe I'm not aware of any limitations of the current fleet of Boeing jets serving in the executive transport/AF1 mission <someone correct me if I'm wrong>, (you can also acknowledge that there are cost overruns/delays with the replacements coming from Boeing), and also believe that it is unbecoming of a democratic great power to look like Tyrone Biggums on the Chappelle Show trying to get a new airframe from a Gulf monarchy. That's ignoring the blatant corruption on public display.

Not a lawyer…but which part is not legal?

Can’t say I’m too opposed to taking a donation or gift of a jet for official government use.

Now…the donation to the Presidential library afterwards? I don’t see the point of that one. If anything seems
