When AW started as a Blog.. Websan and Steve did not rip on "Brocademy Fags" while extolling the virtue of living in the ghetto and never partying.
Wow. Wasn't trying to start any trouble at all or be a douche. But me and my friends thought this was hilarious and is right in line with the Monseur Aviation post.
Below is an email sent to A-Pool by another Ensign. I really hope this is some kind of joke. WTF is a Usta scale?
APOOL,
Anyone interested in playing some fairly competitive tennis? I'm probably about a 4 on the Usta scale.
Also looking for people interested in sailing. I sailed in college, but don't have the cert to rent the boats out of the marina. Would be open to even going off base to do some beer races.
ENS XXX
Sounds like two completely legit activities. At least the guy has the motivation to seek out like-minded activity partners.Did you even read my post? You're doing exactly what Monsieur (feel free to spell it correctly) did wrong. Tearing down his fellow JO's in an attempt to look cool. Stop, or reap the whirlwind.
The other point...what's so funny about playing tennis and sailing? What should the good Ensign be doing? Do tell...

You guys flamed the hell out of the Monseur dude, knowing fully that this forum was started by someone's blog. I guess the "older" crowd can poke fun at JOPA but we can't poke fun at our own.

Now I'm curious... What do you drive?...jokes I get about my car...

Within your own wardroom or over a barley pop at the pub is fine. Taking the "fun" outside of your JOPA inner circle is a no no. When I was in a squadron up in Brunswick, the JO email banter was epic (especially considering we were dispersed on a tri-site). One of the "new" female JO's tried to take our internal, blood letting outside the circle of trust to folks not even in the military. This and many, "other" things contributed to her demise . . . . .One of our favorite things to do as Ensigns is make fun of each other.

1999 Ford Bronco! 98,000 miles and still going strong.
Jokes usually involve OJ Simpson.
