nope, as a matter of fact, unless you are using auto-throttles, you must trim yourself to on-speed when landing in the Hornet, just like you do in the T-45
with gear up, the Hornet's FCS does a good job with auto-trimming in the pitch axis, but doesn't do well auto-trimming laterally, especially with asymmetrical loadouts, or "goofy gas" configuration.
the reasoning behind the tension on the stick, so i'm told (and makes sense), is to give some feed back & "feel" to the Blue's pilot in order to make smaller & smoother corrections while in tight formation ... you can try it in the T-34 or T-45, trim the stick a little bit forward & try flying parade like that
