Unless you enjoy being "that guy" who sits in the corner and doesnt talk to anyone and eats lunch by himself. If this is you, good luck in your unpleasant Naval career.

Some people like to leave work at work. There's always somewhere you can get together and study/prep. There's not always somewhere you can go to just be left alone for a little while.

Not wanting a roommate doesn't mean someone is antisocial or will have an unpleasant Naval career.

I concur with Fezz. Having a roomate (a cool one, not somebody who'll drive you nuts) is good for flight school. Live flight school 24/7. Let your "leave work at work" time, which is good later, start after getting winged.

I'll put all that into consideration. Is finding a room mate easy? I could definately see how living alone could potentially suck. Especially seeing as I like to party as much as, if not more so than most and living by one's self could pontentially limit that

Eh, even though I think Crowbar is a jerk too ( just kidding) , I'll have to agree with him here :D I lived alone last year in college, but I still was able to have people over to study or hang out with friends. It is always nice to go home and not have to deal with people at the end of a tough day. Does that mean the married guys are anti-social because they don't live with the other studs?

Good question. The married guys in my class are actually really cool dudes. But yea, different strokes for different folks I guess.

But damn Crowbar, did I really deserve a neg rep point?? Thats just plain cold. I was just voicing my "opinion" based on what I've seen. But then again, I am just a worthless O-1 :D

Hot girls are overrated. Fun girls are better. Besides, paper bags aren't that diffucult to use. Unless she is fat. Ain't no paper bag in the world that can fix that.

I was told if there was room in the BOQ, you had to stay there. Is this no longer the case? Could be the AF is making things up and are completely clueless about this... But if any of you who reported recently could clear this up, I'd appriciate it.

As for off base places, are most close enough to ride a bike in rather than drive? And what are your opinions on living near the main vs. back gate?

And here's the obligatory stats... AF pilot, female, reporting Aug 5th.

Technically, the government can make you live in housing (by denying you BAH), whether you're married or single, if the base housing is empty enough. I have never even heard of this happening. Not once. It's up to you where you live.
