CEC Board January 16 2012

Mheng,
Are you asking about the reserves or active duty? I don't know about active, but my recruiter has told me that the reserve CEC board has met and that they will release the list of selectees around the second week of Feb.

Active has met but they are verifying billets last I heard, then they will send the selections up for signature by the senior board member and such, it seems as CEC takes longer for this process, so I would guess 2 weeks.

I talked to my recruiter on Friday who assured me that both the reserve and active boards have met. The active results have been out for a few weeks and he expects the reserve results to be released this week. Of course I was told that same sentance two weeks ago too. I am waiting for the reserve results so all I can do is wait. I will post here the moment I hear anything so hopefully others can check thier status as well.

The active board is done but no results have been emailed out, there is an issue with billets, the active CEC results were sent to the senior member last week for signature but he didn't want to sign them until billets were verified, I had heard an unofficial list was available for some at NRC to see and some info leaked out but could be a bad day for someone if they are told they had a spot, then they find out they didn't get it, and yes this has happened before with the CEC results.

I have the results, they were sent up for signature on 10 Feb and signed last week with release on Thur or Fri.

34 selection (15 graduates/19 collegiates)
39 non selects

Please excuse my ignorance but what is the difference between graduates and collegiates? If collegiates are still in college, are they granted and commission like a midshipman?

All go through OCS but collegiates can be paid at paygrade E-3 for up to 2 years while finishing college, they are kind of the wildcard as depending on when they graduate depends on what FY they cound against.

Question if I am selected for commission and have less than 6 months left to graduate, am I considered bdcp or something else?

There has been a change in the way things have been done, so in the past if a person was inside 6 months they were DA, outside of 6 months they were a CEC collegiate, and if they had graduated they were a graduate. Now everyone technically falls under CEC collegiate, but how they are distributed now is more by FY, and that dictates the numbers.

Is there any information on when the next Reserve Board will meet? I would like to submit an application packet.
