Thanks for the info. I didn't get an active duty spot, but The reserve officer recruiter seems to think my package is very strong so if possible I will submit for this month..My recruiter explained to me that the CEC board meets once every month or every other month depending on needs. From my understanding, it is the most frequent board that meets. I would submit your packet as soon as possible.
Yes, I think so. My recruiter told me that I was selected and now I'm waiting on my commissioning documents, which could take a few more weeks. My understanding and what I was told is that CEC doesn't have billets until O-5 and above so I'm not sure what sure what it means when NavyOffRec says that FY-12 is full. Perhaps staffing and manning requirements are full and that is different from billet requirements or slots. I'm just not sure.
You need to talk to your recruiter, there is an issue with available billets and number selected, the region CEC officers sent out emails on this issue.Does anyone know what is going on with the FS letters for active? Has anyone got their FS letter yet?
Just talked to my OR. Told me the same thing about billets and the number selected. Is it true that those selected could possibly be denied and have to reapply?
Has anyone heard any further news on the FS holds? My recruiter has told me possibly July worst case scenario October. Can anyone confirm?
Hello All and NavyoffRec,
I am just becoming a member of this site after lurking for a while and gathering information about OCS and DCO. I am currently a reservist who just left active duty (Navy by the way) on 12Apr12 and I am seeking a commission in either of the said programs. I am currently about 10 months from graduating with my B.S. in Computing Technology and after reading some of the posts in this thread it seems that you can apply while you are still a student is that correct? and is that true for OCS and DCO? I have a GPA of 3.63 and I plan on keeping it that high or even trying to raise it before I graduate. Any guidance on where I should start would be appreciated. I plan on speaking to the officer in charge at my reserve NOSC on NAS Whidbey Island as well, I just haven't had a chance to stop by and ask yet. Thank you again for any help, and good luck to everyone else who is interested.
