I agree, sir. This is what happens when one acquiesces to the suggestions of one's recruiter. If you didn't want to accept the possibility of being a Supply Officer, then you shouldn't have put it down as your "back-up" option.
I didn't mean to give that impression. To put it simply, I try to make my decisions by weighing the pros and cons. Coming into this I didn't know anything about supply, and in my attempts to educate myself about the pros and cons, I was only able to find cons. I really want to find the pros because the cons are making it difficult to accept. This is what I meant about motivation. I am desperate for some pros about working in Supply. The OCS prep manual says in big bold letters 'Only those with a strong desire... will successfully complete...' I spent the last 3 years of my life getting ready for Intel (yes, now I know this was foolish, based on the low-probably of entering that field). I hope it is understandable if i my strong desire/motivation needed a little reinforcement after 3 year's expectations were crushed. To be honest, I was DEPed for CTI while I was finishing up my degree, in the case that I didn't get accepted to OCS, and I'd rather have the CTI job, but I can't get that back either. The trend seems to be that I don't know what I need to know until it's too late. Are we just God's gift to the Navy...
It is doubtful there will be any Intel boards for a few years, other IDC designators yes, but the Intel designator community is overmanned, and they have a lot waiting to go, I believe around 60 with a goal of 7, so they have enough selected for years.
Thank you for your candid explanation of the Intel situation. I wish I had found this board years ago and began posting here before starting down this path without all the facts. I will recommend Airwarriors to my friends who were also considering the military after college.
