Well, the Chinese can’t even keep their (tourist) carrier from burning.I believe carriers were referred to as "missile magnets" in another thread... @Hotdogs did I quote that correctly?
But what are they serving in WR 1/2 for ‘rats? That’s a true testament of the capabilities of a missile magnet. Finally photos of carrier ops on China's first catapult-equipped aircraft carrier, CV-018.
The best bet on an air wing would be 20 or more J-35 stealth strike fighters, 10 or more J-15T Flanker strike fighters, a lesser number of J-15DT electronic attack fighters, an airborne warning and control unit with several KJ-600 VAW-type aircraft and a contingent of Z-20 helicopters (that resemble the H-60). It's possible that two types of helicopters could be onboard -- several for plane guard/SAR and then Z-20s for ASW.

I find it interesting that the PRC decided to use SD-2 Spotting Dollies on the flight deck. The US Navy uses those in the hangar bay. Finally photos of carrier ops on China's first catapult-equipped aircraft carrier, CV-018.

I'm curious what other GSE, auxiliary equipment, processes and procedures were simply copied and adopted from USN. This is interesting. Do you think there is a Handler? Absolutely.I'm curious what other GSE, auxiliary equipment, processes and procedures were simply copied and adopted from USN. This is interesting. Do you think there is a Handler? Ouija Board?
I was on a Carrier Strike Group in 2006 where PACFLT designated our carrier as the PRC host during a major exercise. The PRC visitors took copious notes on how everything operated. I think this was a pre-cursor to them "building" a carrier, so it makes sense they copied everything we do.I'm curious what other GSE, auxiliary equipment, processes and procedures were simply copied and adopted from USN. That’s only for the EMD model, but maybe it will help us in the war against the Klingon Empire.I’m not worried. The U.S. will field their first F-47 by the year 2234.
